We all know avocados are healthy, but what makes them a nutritional powerhouse?

Avocados are great for many reasons.

Avocados contain numerous vitamins and minerals, including vitamin k, folate, vitamin c, B vitamins, and more potassium than a banana.

Full of heart-healthy fats. The type of fat found in avocados is called monounsaturated fatty acids, which are associated with reducing inflammation and heart-protecting effects. Avocados may help promote normal blood pressure and lower total cholesterol.

But isn’t fat bad for you? Nope! Actually fat is essential for vitamin and mineral absorptions. In fact, the high-fat percentage in avocados helps you absorb all the nutrients it contains. Many of the vitamins that are found in avocados need fat to be absorbed. A perfect pair!

Avocados are great for your brain. One study showed that eating one avocado a day helped improve problem-solving skills and working memory.

Finally, avocados are also a great source of fiber. Fiber helps with staying full after a meal; this helps you feel satisfied after eating and lessens mindless snacking.
